Dancing 'neath the stormy skies

Dress: Arlene Airess, vintage, thrifted;
Scarf: thrifted;
Belt: LOFT;
Shoes: gift, from Philippines.
How I've worn the dress: here.

I had Friday off, so it was the perfect opportunity for me to go play around in a different photo location. I really liked reading everyone's responses to the last post, and it inspired me to try to re-work a place that I'd already discovered and give it another chance. I stopped coming to the trail because it seemed like every time I went, it was crowded: either the marching band/flagline were practicing nearby, or biology classes were building bottle ecosystems and collecting items for them. The last time I went, it was a perfect storm of both, plus there was a fishing class too! I understand it's a public place, and I respect others' work there, but it seemed like every time I set up a shot, 10 people would walk by right in it. But I discovered that if one goes at very specific hours (read: before noon, on a weekday) it's not crowded at all, and if it's cloudy, then it's less so.

This is my Little House on the Prairie dress, also known as the Miraculous Find dress (as seen here) and I don't know how this outfit has never been created before, because it was just so much fun to wear. I almost wore my fedora but thought it would look too cowgirl with with scarf.

What are your weekend plans? Jeremiah and I went out downtown last night. We haven't really had any proper dates in the last few weeks, because we're both busy with work and he's always busy with school, so Friday we made it a priority to just spend time with each other. We originally planned on going to a drag show at this one bar, because I was interested in seeing everyone's costumes, but that kind of fell through. We got there, and there weren't that many people there, and only about three people were dressed in drag (pretty stellar get-ups, though), and it didn't look like a show was really going to happen. So we went to a different part of downtown and hung out at a few drink places, and ended the night eating hot dogs on the corner, just people watching. It was one of those nicely simple kind of nights.

Hope you have a great Saturday! I hope I'll be doing a lot of this:

    Hey, I had your shopping karma this weekend and snagged 5 pairs of hue tights and 3 pairs of socks for under $20 (with some coupons) - since we had had that conversation this week I wanted to share my joy. will be using your tights outfits for inspiration too.

    Glad you had a date ... always restorative with one's husband ....
