Bottle works

A couple weeks ago, Jeremiah and I were bestowed with several dozen vintage mini-bottles of liquor as well as some liqueurs by a family friend. Apparently he had been collecting them over the years -- a plane ride here, a hotel fridge there. Seventy bottles in total, we soon pored over them and our kitchen table has resembled an apothecary lab for a few days. Some of them are still full with unbroken seals, and others are half-empty. After debating for a couple days what exactly to do with them, we decided to do some research online to see if they were safe to drink (a little iffy on the liqueurs, and they would most likely taste gross) or were valuable (a few of them might be). They're probably going to sit on our bookshelf for the time being, until we can figure out what to do with some of them. Mostly, I just love looking at the labels, so here are a few of my favorites:

I've started little collections of things as a hobby ("Gone with the Wind" and "Phantom of the Opera" memorabilia, especially) but nothing has amassed quite to this scale. Do you collect anything?

  1. I don't collect anything but this definitely makes me want to start collecting bottles. Some of them are really interesting! What a neat collection to display!

  2. Those are really cool. I collect miniature teasets. I have a bunch, but don't have any out right now because of the little ones and their curious hands. When they are bigger, though, I dream of huge curio cabinet, someday...
