Deja vu

Dress: J. Crew; Top: Leslie Fay, vintage, thrifted;
Boots: Target; Belt: Camp Rainey Mtn.

Shop similar: Dress, top.

I promised myself that when I started the 30 for 30 Remix Challenge that I would eventually wear this combination together. But because I've remixed this dress so much in the challenge, I feel like I've already worn this exact combination before. I'm so far in the Challenge (at the 28th outfit), that I'm getting a little disoriented with time and space. Thank goodness for this blog and its documentation capabilities, otherwise I might repeat the whole Remix Challenge all over again. Which might be amusing to the rest of you, and will be slightly familiar with overtones of eerie to me.

Anyway, where was I? I did like this combination a lot -- it's a bolder pattern mix than what I usually do. It's slightly cuckoo but delightful to wear.

My favorite part though, wasn't the clash of prints but the blouse's neck frill, which allowed me to emulate this dinosaur from Jurassic Park:

It's like looking into a mirror.

  1. love the pattern on the dress. lovely photos as well.

  4. lolol, you are too funny!! If you resemble the dinosaur at all, it's in the most stylish way possible :)

  6. Ok, I literally laughed out loud!

  7. lol that is totally the best part of jurassic park!! You're making me really wish I had more clothes with fun prints :)

  8. Vintage Leslie Fay...sigh...always makes me think of my Auntie and smile.

Loving the wonderful clash of the prints effect. I'm not brave as you to attempt such a feat yet. I live in matchy matchy colour co-ordinated land at the moment :)

  9. Love the mixing of the patterns!

  10. Ha ha! Jurassic Parc chic! That blouse is fierce and the Jurassic Parc inspiration is perfect :)

  11. your last picture is hilarious!

  12. Ha! I love this whole post. The picture made me laugh but I really love the outfit.

The pattern mixing is crazy (in a good way) and the colors just work together. Two beautiful pieces too. I'd never think to combine them but it really is stunning. Well done!

  13. "Velociraptors can't open doors. Oh wait, that's not good." I love the bottom picture.

I'd love to hear your thoughts!
