More from the island of lost outfit photos

Basically, winter is killing me in doing outdoor photography. I've compiled some of my favorites from the last couple weeks.

outfit 1 credits - dress: target | blouse: vintage, thrifted | boots: tj maxx | tights: kohls | belt: banana republic | brooch: game of thrones, hbo store.

I wore this a couple weekends ago for a day of vintage shopping and running errands around town. I felt like a grownup Brownie Girl Scout in this one. And with the addition of my beloved "Game of Thrones" brooch, I also felt like a female Ned Stark, as strange as that may sound.

outfit 2 details - coat: zara, thrifted | sweater: old navy | skirt: talbots | tights: kohls | boots: tj maxx.

A typical winter outfit.  The coat was a find in a Salvation Army near my apartment in NYC — I went on a discount day and it was around $3. I wear the fox sweater about twice a week now.

outfit 3 - dress: loft | blouse: leslie fay, vintage, thrifted | tights: kohls | boots: tj maxx.

I haven't worn this vintage top in about two years, but I think it works perfectly with this dress.

Have a great weekend!

Deja vu

Dress: J. Crew; Top: Leslie Fay, vintage, thrifted;
Boots: Target; Belt: Camp Rainey Mtn.

Shop similar: Dress, top.

 I promised myself that when I started the 30 for 30 Remix Challenge that I would eventually wear this combination together. But because I've remixed this dress so much in the challenge, I feel like I've already worn this exact combination before. I'm so far in the Challenge (at the 28th outfit), that I'm getting a little disoriented with time and space. Thank goodness for this blog and its documentation capabilities, otherwise I might repeat the whole Remix Challenge all over again. Which might be amusing to the rest of you, and will be slightly familiar with overtones of eerie to me.

Anyway, where was I? I did like this combination a lot -- it's a bolder pattern mix than what I usually do. It's slightly cuckoo but delightful to wear.

My favorite part though, wasn't the clash of prints but the blouse's neck frill, which allowed me to emulate this dinosaur from Jurassic Park:

It's like looking into a mirror.

Cozy, casual cool (or #12)

Shirt: Leslie Fay, thrifted, vintage;
Vest: Brittany, thrifted, vintage;
Jeans: LOFT;
Moccasins: Minnetonka, gift;
Belt: BR, from Marilou.

Wanted to go with something pretty comfortable on Saturday morning, so I styled up this outfit pretty quickly to run some errands. I might do a similar repeat of this for Thanksgiving because I think it was pulled together, yet cozy and approachable. I included this top for the 30 for 30 Remix Challenge as a way of  trying to get myself to style it. It's a tricky shirt reminiscent of the 1980s -- the only way I can describe it is that it wants to be ladylike with the florals, but then it wants to be a pirate on the high seas with its ruffly sleeves. I tempered its personality confusion by wearing a vest over it.

I'm still taking submissions for my Reader Showcase until 5:00pm est. So totally impressed with the submissions so far -- everyone's got a wonderful story to share about their favorite photo. If you're interested, holla at me!
