Up the creek

Dress, belt:
Ann Taylor Loft;
Shoes: from Philippines, gift.
How I've worn this dress before: here.
It has been so ridiculously hot around here that, while there may be a desire to take photos, it's often physically unbearable to do so, even after 5 p.m. I went back to the same park trail from the previous post, and decided to play around with lighting again. I love how the watercolors in my dress seem to complement the blurriness of the lake itself. For whatever reason, this particular dock reminds me of "Dawson's Creek." It reminds me of all the contemplative moments Joey or Dawson would have on the dock, or inside the rowboat, or climbing into Dawson's window.

A little about the park: It's a preserved area of the Oconee National Forest, and lots of university students do field work around it. It's beautiful enough that I wonder if forestry and ecology majors enjoy the environment on which their research is based. There are lots of dog walkers at this particular park, and so sometimes when I'm taking photos, I'll get startled by the sound of a jangling collar, or the pitter patter of furry feet. Lots of adorable breeds, but I haven't seen any bulldogs yet. Maybe soon, considering how this town worships them.

Happy Wednesday,
signature1 by you.

  8. I always love seeing this dress on you! Love the woods. I'd be amazed if the students didn't appreciate the surroundings given their subject.

  10. You have the best dress collection! I hear you on the heat. I've been taking all of my bootcamp challenge photos right outside the front door, but we have to do them quick or my makeup starts melting and my hair frizzes into oblivion. Can't wait for some Fall reprieve!

  11. I'm glad you found a new photo spot so soon! What a beautiful background - though I know what you mean about this heat, will it never end?! You still manage to look pretty and cool though - I always look wilted by the end of the day!
