Blog changes

Nik and I had a long talk yesterday about the blog, and with her busy schedule of school and sports, she won't be able to be a part of the Sidewalk Chalk blog anymore. It was a little sad because this began as a sister style blog, but the change was necessary.

So what does this mean? I (JoAnn) am still going to be writing for Sidewalk Chalk, and since I'll be the only author, much of the tone and focus will be geared toward my style and sartorial interests. I hope to expand the blog with a few projects coming up, and I'm really excited to put these ideas into play.

Most of all, both Nikki and I have really enjoyed getting to know you these last few months and have been so grateful for your comments and support. I didn't think when I first started blogging here that I would actually make new friends and feel a part of such a wonderful community. You (all of you awesome readers) have made blogging so much fun everyday.

I really hope you'll continue reading Sidewalk Chalk in the future!

  2. I look forward to more Sidewalk Chalk...
Your last post was really brave, I also have a hard time talking about stuff like that on a fashion blog but it is a part of your life and if you feel comfortable sharing than it makes sense. I'm glad you are making your 'dash' full of great experiences!

  3. I know how much time my blog takes, and I can't imagine being 17 and in high school, with so many activities, and having even a spare second to blog. I think that she made a wise choice to focus on her real world. After all, high school only happens once (if you are smart and make wise choices!)and should be fully appreciated while it lasts.

Although change is always unsettling, I have faith that you will continue to have a great blog. I look forward to a bright fututre for you!

  4. @ Myedit: Thanks for your kind words, Yen! I can't wait to figure out what direction this blog should take. I felt pretty nervous getting it all out in that last post, but its relieving to finally let it all out. To be honest, I've really loved the posts in which you've tackled difficult topics yourself. :)

@ Style Artisan: Yep, I think she made the right choice -- she has a lot on her plate and she should enjoy it while it's all happening. Thank you for your sweet thoughts!

  7. I hope this will be a welcome and refreshing change for you both! Balance is hard so I'm proud of her for cutting back in some areas to achieve it in all the important pieces of her life.

And I love the way you handled your last post with such grace. Tough to share but I love seeing little pieces of peoples' lives if they're open. Keep dashin' ;)
