Giveaway - Win a custom print from Easy Canvas Prints

Let's start with some art fun this Monday, shall we? This week's giveaway is offered by Easy Canvas Prints, an online canvas printing company that turns photos into wall art. They're giving Sidewalk Chic readers a chance to win an 8x10 canvas print of their own!

I was offered a chance to review their services by testing out their site tools and choosing a canvas print. I decided to use a photo of my own below -- something that I found sentimental and would punch up the colors in my living room. I chose the 8x10 option of the photo below, but there are other larger sizes available. 

I found the site tools really easy to use and customize -- you can crop and add different editing options to your heart's desire to the photo. In addition, there's an option for how to make the image look on the sides of the canvas, which really helps create an art gallery look to the print. All in all, I got my order very quickly and am very ecstatic about the results:

With that said, Easy Canvas Prints is offering one U.S. reader an 8x10 canvas of their own photo! There are so many options on how to customize these prints -- you can use it for a beloved photo, art print, or favorite phrase. Just check out the ideas in the gallery here.

Blog birthday giveaway time!

So this is a pretty exciting week for me -- it's my one-year blog anniversary on Saturday. In honor of that, I wanted to find something that would be a small token of my gratitude for all of you amazing readers. You really have helped make Sidewalk Chalk what it is, and I could not be more grateful for your friendship in the last year.

I spent quite a bit of time looking in local vintage stores for the right thing to give away, because I wanted it to be something chic and a piece that would look fantastic on everyone. Enter this 1960s vintage black saddle handbag.

 It's leather, in the saddle design, and has a snap closure, silver/gold hardware, and three compartments (two open, one a zip-up) on the inside. My favorite feature is the handle, because it has ball-and-socket attachments! It's quite a beautiful, ladylike bag that can be used for everyday, but has enough pretty details to be used for special occasions -- like those holiday parties coming up  soon. Doesn't it look like something from the "Mad Men" prop department?

About this outfit. I picked up this dress last week during 50% Off Day at the Salvation Army. I think wearing my gingham top the other day put me in the mood for red, because I picked up this dress as well as my prairie one too. Gingham is so uniquely a summer print that wearing it just makes me want to eat popsicles and sit on a porch swing all day. I feel like I really belong to the farm park in this dress, if that makes sense.

I wore this dress to get our keys and drop off our first load of stuff to the new apartment in Athens. It didn't require too much physical effort -- just glassware and minor stuff -- but usually I would just go with shorts and a t-shirt and be done with it on a day like Saturday. Just dressing up a little bit made me feel like I was breaking the rules.

The next couple of days are going to be crazy, so I'll be checking email sporadically. I have a few posts planned though, so stick around!
